Timeline

1946 –  Douglas DC-3

1959 – Lockheed Electra aircraft (American turboprop airliner) – first aircraft to offer a premium cabin, with 12 First class seats

1962 – first Convair 880  (American narrow-body jet airliner)

1968 – all-jet fleet

1979 – first Boeing 747-200, VR-HKG, arrives in Hong Kong – propel Cathay Pacific from a regional carrier to a global player with a long-haul network: flights to London Gatwick begin the following year, with a service stop in Bahrain to refuel

1989 – new and improved 747-400, introduced in 1989, which opened up many more non-stop, long-haul destinations across Europe and North America – connecting people across all corners of the world

1995 – Since the airline’s first Trent-powered A330 flight to Singapore on 6 March 1995 (refernce: here)

1996 –  Cathay Pacific received its first Airbus A340-300 in 1996  (refernce: here)

1998 – Registered B-HNH, the first 777-300 was handed over to Cathay Pacific in a special ceremony at Boeing Field, near Seattle, on 21 May 1998.   (reference: here)

2000 – The 777-200 aircraft joined the Cathay Pacific fleet in 2000  (reference: here)

2006 –  signed an agreement that brought Dragonair into the Cathay Pacific Group as a wholly owned subsidiary – 所以有左A320

2016 – Cathay Pacific Airways’ first Airbus A350-900XWB aircraft arrived at Hong Kong International Airport from Toulouse, France on Sunday, 29 May. (reference: here)

2018 – Cathay Pacific received its first Airbus A350-1000 (reference: here)

2021 – Cathay Pacific’s state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo aircraft will enter into commercial service on 4 August 2021 (reference:  here)
