CNY Trip 2020 Day3
January 27, 2020
During the planning stage of the CNY family trip 2020, I designed to make my parents having the most comfortable travelling experience in a very limited budget. Also, I set an important performance index that’s not too rush – I don’t want the schedule too tight. Unfortunately, our schedule are often delayed for the sake of traffic jam.
Anyway, our day 3 itinerary was started from a cafe called “Common Grind”. Interestingly, all of us including my daddy, who rarely drinks coffee, likes the food and drinks there.
Then, I “transfer the risk to the vendor”. We got onboard a small van to the holiday inn for a bigger coach. The first stop was the Royal Selangor Visitor Centre, where is both the museum and a factory. A female staff was our presenter, who gave us the history of the cooperate and also guided us to take a look on the demonstration of different production steps. Then, we went to Batik Factory showroom. Believe it or not, I felt great, although the shopping section was included. Somehow the tour fee is certainly reasonable, it is normal that the guide expect us to “stimulate the economic.” However, I should be fair to him – whether you buy anything or not, the guide won’t force you. Finally, we have an hour for the Batu Cave sightseeing.
Once we alighted from the coach, a flock of pigeon was flying across you or seated on the sidewalk. The statue indeed is the tallest statue of a Hindu deity in Malaysia and third tallest statue of a Hindu deity in the world. It is also the tallest statue in Malaysia at 42.7 metres (140 ft) in height. Behind, you can see the colorful staircase with 200 steps escalating to the entrance of the cave. While you are climbing up to the top, you will see monkeys and you can smell something. Personally speaking, I recommend this place to visitors who want to see religious feature. Yet, if you are afraid of wide animals and very sensitive to hygiene, this might not a right place for you.
We finished our visiting around 1230, the coach sent us back to the downtown and it was already 13xx, I took the suggestion from the tour guide – have a go on the local monorail (RapidKL). The intention was good, but I absolutely feel disappointed because of our bad experience. If everything went fine, there had 6 stations to our target destination. The vehicle got some technical issues and so all passenger needed to alight at the third station. Five minutes or so, next “vehicle” arrived and we got onboard again. Two stations later, at the fifth station, where we supposed having only one station to our destination, the service was frozen completely. We waited for ten minutes or so, some started getting off and so we were off as well. However, we could not get out from the gate if we don’t pay extra fare. How come? What the heck policy it’s. Anyway, I paid then we took Grab to somewhere near the China town.
When we arrived a restaurant that had been in our bucket list, there was only around 30 mins to its closing time. I made a decisive action to bring my VIP to another restaurant just next to the planned one. After lunch, we visited a place called “Kwai Chai Hong”. There, we took photos with graffiti and street art as the background. Around 164x, we had a coffee time in a quite famous cafe. At 1818, while we were heading for dinner, we found a herbal tea shop, where we bought four bottle of Chinese health drinks. Almost 1900, we were having claypot chicken rice as our dinner in Jalan Petaling. We also bought 3 different types of food as supper. At 23xx, before ending the day 3, we were enjoying the food with an awesome night view in our compartment. Finally, I started my dream by mid-night.
