CNY Trip 2020 Day 2
January 27, 2020
Despite of lacking sufficient sleep, I feel excited and energetic because of the sunny weather. We had our breakfast at restoran yut kee. Then, our journey started at 9 am. I applied “risk management” knowledge to reduce the possibility of having conflict with my parents – they seem to be the most fussy person that I get along with. Anyway, they enjoyed the half-day city tour provided Klook as well as Ivy holidays.
Our driver, who also was the tour guide, brought us to an intersection near the British Council of KL. There, some hawkers might be very helpful to let you having a go on their wide angle lens on your mobile before they request you to buy one. Actually, their product won’t cost your arms and legs, but it is about 4 times of the market price. Therefore, for your information, don’t take their benefit if you don’t really want to buy it. After the photo taking moment, he drove us to a souvenir store, in which you might try different chocolate products before you have time to see if you want some for your friends and acquaintances. Follow by that, the guide asked us to another local store for tea or coffee commodities. Before we could go to sightseeing points for photos, we had one more stop in a so-called handicraft center to have chance buying something. Well, somehow the fare of the half-day tour trip is a bit reasonable and so it is understandable that we had various shopping checkpoints. However, I felt unbelievably comfortable because both the guide and the staff in those stores did not force or gave us too much pressure to buy anything. They even offered us some samples and free trails. Believe it or not, we accept the “soft-selling strategy”. I bought a 80% dark chocolate to my mum. I also got 200g coffee bean (I don’t think the store is selling fine coffee bean as their is no expire date, nor roasting date). I also got some postcards and a key ring.
Around 1030, we arrived the National Palace. After that, at 1103, we had another 20 minutes free time for the National Monument. Next, at 1130 or so, we arrived the National Mosque. Finally, at 1207, our van stopped in front of Sultan Abdul Samad Building on Jalan Raja. Overall, I feel that the half-day tour is excellent.
Since I planned to bring them to a quite exotic restaurant called “Restaurant Warisan”, we asked the tour to leave us at the last dropping point instead of our apartment. While we were having our meal, someone was singing on the stage. In short, I highly recommend my friend visit here if you are barely finding a decent semi-Buffet during lunch hour.
After that, we went to the KLCC and took the elevator to 86/F for the city landscape. Then, we headed to Jalan Alor for bbq food. Since we wanna fully utilize our apartment, we went for take-away options. Before ending day two, we went to the top of our apartment, where we took few photos.
