FCOM : Flight Crew Operating Manual

CCOM : Cabin Crew Operating Manual

The Flight Crew Operating Manual (FCOM) is issued by the manufacturer as a guideline for operators to develop their own Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in accordance with applicable requirements.

This source document incorporates aircraft manufacturer guidance on how to use the systems on board the aircraft for enhanced operational safety, as well as for increased efficiency.

The FCOM is designed for one specific model, type of operation and configuration.

Lithium Battery fire is literally a kind of thermal runaway

What is Thermal Runaway?

• A self-sustaining chain reaction where a lithium-ion battery generates heat faster than it can dissipate, leading to a drastic temperature increase.
• This process can culminate in a fire, explosion, or the release of toxic and flammable gases, posing a severe threat in an aircraft. 

Putting fire is a time demanding and critical emergency case that need various roles to accomplish it:

• Firefighter role : alert other + ident source of fire
• Communication role : alert flight crews, provide info, and maintain commu
• Assistant Firefighter role : bring more resources and prevent propagation by removing flammable items nearby, and replace the firefighter role, if necessary
• Supporting role : relocate the PAX, reassure PAX, first aid
