MOLDOVA CHALLENGE – WEEK1,HELL DORM

My story is starting on the date of 2012/08/07. Since I have joined a EP from Macau, Mandy Fu, we took bus from Romania to Moldova. The trip took more than 10 hours. If there was only me, I would not be so stupid. Before I joined Mandy, I had thought of taking flight from Romania to Moldova. But finally, I did it – taking bus. It is a very hard trip for me, I just took all of baggage that is weight about 3x kg from hotel to bus stop. It is about 2.5 km, but the main point is that we do not know the Romanian language speaking Romania, do not know how to walk to bus station. We were just walking on a lumpy road. Crazy? But I did it.

Tough we took the night bus, it does not mean that I can sleep well as I am very worried about the safety. I need to watch my baggage as well as prepare for Traffic accident! Since the road is very dark and lumpy. Also, the driver was driving very fast.

After about 8 hours road trip, I arrived the boarder of Romania, the first challenge was coming. The Romania police officer asked for some papers. Actually, I had no idea about what he want. After communication, I was pass. Then I took about 45 min road trip, I arrived Moldova Central Gare Auto on 0630 (2012/08/08).

Maybe the time is too early, the welcome AIESECer (buddy) was not there. I waited with Mandy there at least for almost an hour. During the hour, some beggars came for begging. I really want to help them, but I was worried that if we help them, there is more and more coming. So, I decided not helping them. And, I started asking passerby for helping. Challenge was coming again! Since citizen in Moldova usually speak Romania or Russia. I do not speak both at all.

While we were asking for borrowing mobile phone, there was a man coming to us and speaking Portuguese with Mandy. The man said that he is father of boyfriend of our friend. If you were me, do you trust him? So, we are very careful to verify his identity. Marvelous surprise was happen! He is really the father of boyfriend of our friend. We had waited for about 30 min at the Gare Auto (Bus stop), our buddy came.

We took taxi to an university dorm. Once we arrived, the dorm staff told us to take our baggage to 5/F, without elevator. OMG! What is the year now?! OK, Moldova Challenge! I took my baggage by myself from G/F to 5/F. Then, the buddy showed us the dorm facility. Once I saw it, I would like to say what the hell?! Sorry, maybe it is unpolite. I cannot use another sentence to show my feeling. The so-called bathroom is only with sink, without hot water all day. At night, the bathroom and toilet is no light. Also, the dorm is no washing machine and the Wi-fi service is rubbish. It is really worse than that I have thought. But the name of the program is Moldova Challenge. So, fine! Maybe I should change myself. Challenge the challenges!
