The journey in 2017 – Macau @ 2017 Sep 08

Macau, is located approximately 24 NM (48 km) southwest of Hong Kong, are not unfamiliar to Hong Kong people. This time, I got an amiable Taiwanese and we had planned nothing as well as tried to strayed around the northern part of this wonderful place.

With a relaxing mood, we disembarked the turbojet departing from HK 港澳碼頭. Fortunately, we got the seats at the upper-deck, which is soft and with enough leg room like the business class of a 747.

The 60 mins en-route time helped me to be more unwind and turned into “holiday mode” thoroughly. We just got onto a mini-bus provided by the casino of one of luxury hotels in Macau. Unsurprisingly, end of the route is a famous , sth grand sth lisboa…we just made a responsible decision if and how much we could have some fun inside the attractive arena.

Later, we get out from the main entry safely without losing any fingers (exaggerated metaphor). We was trying to reach checkpoint one – an impromptu transition point – the lgreja de S. Domingos (St. Dominic’s church) – which is surrounded by various outlets. We entered the refurbished heritage. The memory recalled from my mind about the past trip in the Vienna and Paris, in which also have lots of feature church and even bigger cathedral for sightseeing.

The St. Dominic’s church is found in 1857, of which with more than 400 years historical value, is now (at least at the visiting date) opened for public, and some praying events is hold there.

Outside the church, the one with a long name, that I just called “Rose church”. The lower price shown on huge placard is really eyeball catching. To be honest, the price is lower compared to the same commodity in the identical brand of shops in Hong Kong. I tried very hard to restrain from shopping and slightly change my focus on local food. I ordered a 燉奶 and Billy, my pal, just ordered a cup of iced lemon tea for the sake of allergy. After that, we used the escalator reaching the 7/F of a wet market just next to the dessert shops, of which is in vicinity to the “rose church”.

Finished the lunch at around 13 sth (13xx LT), we just diverted from main boulevard into the alley. We share a mutual agreement : finding the local thing without any planning. Surely, we followed the path and climb a slope to the Seminario e lgreja de S. Jose St. Joseph’s Seminary and Church – another building with a long name. Rightly, St. Joseph’s Seminary taught an academic curriculum equivalent to that of a university, according to a tourist map.

For your information, don’t miss any chance to access the free of charge and useful material from the local tourist center, one of which located inside the ferry arrival terminal.

Sorry for digression a little bit, let’ me go back on track to the Ruinas de S. Paulo, Ruins of St. Paul’s. We follow the crisscrossed road that look like rows of dilapidated edifice, in contrast to the modern building at the downtown. From my aesthetic perspective, I enjoy it so much since it is not easy to see those historic blocks with foreign taste – the western 18-19th century styled – really suitable for a album.

In Ruins of St. Paul’s, as its name imply the significance of the heritage, it also bring me a new friend, who was mentor of my pal. We just enjoyed a cup of drink nearby and had a Macau-made Scone in Margaret’s Cafe e Nata.

The climax point may be after the slope and the above parts when I was awaiting in front of a traffic light. Suddenly, a man grabbed on my left hand and I just caught completely surprise – after few seconds recognition – omg – an acquaintance stood in front of me.He is one of my schoolmates in Taiwan. Come on, how low the possibility that I can gather with the peer in his hometown…holy perfect!

Later, my pal vomited and eventually showed his discomfort when we were chatting at a 8 stories shopping mall. At that point, I felt sorry and with guilty on his status. Why I could not ask if my “crew” member okay or not. And how come I only brought the bund-A and without any medicine for precautionary purpose. Again fortunately, I could find a “whiteflower”, kind of chemical with stimulus function ? But I really need to be more vigilant even the purpose of trip is to chill out from working instead of becoming slacken.

In the evening, the last part of the journey, I am honor to have meal with a lady who I have admired so much at the first time we met in 2013 ? in Romania. We hit it off and traveled from Romania to Moldova by bus. Come on, such a memorable trip and really really thx for joining our meal.

Now, it is time to have a good dream and then back to reality, dreaming to be a pilot in one day so that I can fight to different countries to make new friends as well as enjoy alcohols free meals during stopping over.
