2016 – From layman to Rookie
Various great things have happened over the past 12 months. The awesome 10-hours flight experience in AFTC, Adelaide, South of Australia. Following by the acquisition of class 2 driving license and the vocation change in June also provide me different opportunities to meet many great mentors, friends and co-workers.
I learned more about commercial airliners operation through the daily practice in Ops department. And in November I decided to join the module B of PPL course which, hold by HKU Space, will help in equipping myself to be more proficient and more competitive.
Safety is utmost important and on the top list of priorities since the first day working in aviation industry. Following the current regulation and latest published standard operation procedure make most operations hit the On-Time performance target.
Sadly, extended flight duty period (FDP), both duty time as well as turnaround time, was overshadowed by combined factors – aircraft late arrival, ATC holding instruction and high turnover rate of flight operation agent.
2017 is going to be a challenging year – and also a critical year – for my career advancement. In face of the increasing FDP, my health and social intercourse activity should not be compromised. I will keep doing moderate intensity aerobic exercise in my pastime in order to maintain my physical and mental status. Also, I will preserve budget for traveling with friends, as much as possible. Sharing the mission and vision with my servicing airliners – Asiana Airlines, Ethiopian airlines, Etihad Airways, Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Spring Airlines, Tirgerair, T’way Airlines, VietJet Air – is one of my approach to adapt the CX standard in the future.
Thank you all for looking after in 2016. Best wishes for happy New Year!
