Decision : Learning on the bus
October 8, 2018
Recently, I have just bought a new “toy”, hopefully, which could be used to boost my learning curve.
- I reach or come to a decision after I have put a lot of thought into it (= think about it carefully).
- It a difficult/tough decision to make, I needed time to consider thepros and cons/advantages and disadvantages of the possible choices (= the good and bad things about them). I weigh them up (= decide which are most important) carefully. I have to consider my options.
- I mull something over, I take time to think about it calmly and carefully.
- I have thought long and hard about it or that I did not take the decision lightly.
- a hasty decision (= decided too quickly) is not good ; A snap decision is also a very fast but is usually used in a more positive way to describe something you decide very suddenly.
- I am torn between; two options, I find it very difficult to decide which one to choose. I decide to seek (= try to get) advice or do some research in order to help me make an informed decision (= with all the facts you need). I decide to talk it over with someone else, to see what they think.
- I toy with the idea of doing something, I consider it, but not very seriously, and I have second thoughts about something, I realize that I am not happy with a decision, and may decide to change it.
- If I have the power! – I can overturnor reverse it (= change things to the way they were before).
