Summary
Telling and listening actively to stories
The topic of the lesson is storytelling. I had chance to:
- tell your classmates about something that happened to you in the past
- focus on phrases to show interest
- focus on auxiliary verbs in follow-up questions
- practise using intonation to show interest.
Language – below are some words or phases that we could use to show our interest in a conversation
- Really?
- Yeah, yeah…
- Uh, huh = Yep!
- No!
- You’re joking!
- Don’t you?
- Oh, right.
- Wow.
- That was lucky!
“Echo” questions is another useful skill !
Example: After I say : “Echo” questions is another useful skill ! – you could say : Is it?
Example: I like doing exercise on regular basis. – you could give me response : Do you?
Example: You got it! – Did I?
Uh, huh.
