Airbus opens a new frontier in space
Airbus put the emphasis on the environment inside its twin-aisles. Airbus believes it has
the edge over US rivals (Boeing): personal space in the economy cabin
A330neo (new engine option) – enters service around the end of 2017. Series of signature design elements:
- enhanced LED ambient lighting
- larger overhead storage bins (66% bigger than A330)
- moving mid-cabin lavatories to a combined lavatory and galley area at the rear (similar to
Space-Flex conecpt for the A320) + “touchless” lavatories
Airbus believes it holds a trump card: A380 and A350
(P.s A350 is 12cm wider cabin than 787 – but BOTH – 9 abrest economy configuration)
Airbus claims that A350 is more confortable than 787 because of more lateral elbow room
while the A380 is equipped with 18in (45.7cm) economy seat that larger than the “industry
norm” – 17in ~
