You will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>give a presentation on making a workplace more environmentally friendly<\/li>\n<li>develop vocabulary related to work and the environment<\/li>\n<li>focus on phrases for developing an argument<\/li>\n<li>practise word stress in environmental words.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Ben: So, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">what did you want to see me about<\/span> Graf? <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Is everything OK?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Graf: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Fine. Fine.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I wanted to talk about<\/span> <strong>making the office greener.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ben: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Oh. Well, <strong>I\u2019m all ears! (\u6d17\u8033\u606d\u807d)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Graf: Have you read that leaflet yet? \u2013 the one from GreenWorld?<\/p>\n<p>Ben: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I had a quick glance<\/span> yes. I thought we were pretty green in this office.<\/p>\n<p>Graf: So did I. But<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> after reading that leaflet I\u2019ve come to the conclusion that<\/span> there are a lot more things that we could do. I\u2019ve had a look at a couple of web pages and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I\u2019ve got a few ideas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ben: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Ok. Let\u2019s hear them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Graf: <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Right, first of all I think we should<\/span> <\/strong>start buying<strong> refillable<\/strong> pens. <strong>Disposable<\/strong> ones <strong>are<\/strong> cheap but we use hundreds. <strong>We should<\/strong> buy a box of pens and a supply of refills.<\/p>\n<p>Ben:<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong> Would that work out <\/strong>cheap<strong>er?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Graf: Yes. They\u2019d be <strong>cheaper<\/strong> and <strong>more ecological.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ben: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">OK. What else?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Graf: Paper.<\/p>\n<p>Ben: But we already recycle paper. We\u2019ve been doing it for years.<\/p>\n<p>Graf: Yes. But the paper we buy isn\u2019t recycled. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>We really ought to<\/strong><\/span> buy recycled paper, without bleach.<\/p>\n<p>Ben: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">And<\/span> the quality<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Graf: There are different grades of paper. The best recycled paper <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">is pretty much the same as<\/span> the paper we\u2019re using, quality<strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">-wise.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tommykwan.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/wise-dictionary.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-992 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/tommykwan.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/wise-dictionary.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"708\" height=\"242\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tommykwan.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/wise-dictionary.jpg 708w, https:\/\/tommykwan.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/wise-dictionary-600x205.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 708px) 100vw, 708px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ben: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">But isn\u2019t it<\/span> more expensive<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Graf: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">No, not any more. It used to be but these days<\/span> the prices are more competitive.<\/p>\n<p>Ben: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">OK, let me think about<\/span> the paper.<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> Anything else?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Graf: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Well, I think you could consider<\/span> paying me to be a \u201cgreen officer\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Ben: And<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> what would that involve exactly,<\/span> Graf?<\/p>\n<p>Graf: Well, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">you wouldn\u2019t have to<\/span> pay me any extra but a part of my job description would have to include a few hours a month to make the office greener. I\u2019d save the company hundreds of pounds and we\u2019d all have a cleaner conscious.<\/p>\n<p>Ben: Well, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">you\u2019ve certainly given me something to think about.<\/span> Tell you what Graf. Why don\u2019t you write up a short proposal of what your job as \u201cgreen officer\u201d would consist of and we can meet next week to discuss it.<\/p>\n<p>Graf: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Great!
