provided for use in the event of an aircraft undershooting the runway<\/li>\n<li>overshoot RESA &#8211;\u00a0 provided for use in the event of an aircraft overruning the runway after an aborted takeoff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Stopway<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>only has signifiances to multi-engine aircraft<\/li>\n<li>prepared to carry the weight of an aircraft<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Clearway<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>only designed to allow an aircraft to <strong>fly over<\/strong> them without risk of obstacles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Landing Distance Available (<strong>LDA<\/strong>)<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the length of runway declared by the Authority to be available and <strong>suitable for the ground landing run<\/strong> of an aeroplane which commences at the threshold and, usually, corresponds to the physical length of the runway.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Takeoff Run Available (<strong>TORA<\/strong>)<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the length of runway which is declared by the Authority to be available and <strong>suitable for the ground run<\/strong> of an aeroplane <strong>taking off<\/strong> which usually corresponds to the physical length of the runway<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Accelerate-Stop Distance Available (<strong>ASDA<\/strong>)<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>for performance calculation<\/li>\n<li>as its name imply, the length of runway which is declared by the Authoruty to be available and suitable for acceleration and deceleration of an aircraft aborting takeoff<\/li>\n<li>however, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">ASDA maybe shorter than TORA<\/span>, or in some case, ASDA = TORA + Stopway!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Takeoff Distance Available (<strong>TODA<\/strong>)<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the length of the takeoff run available plus the length of any clearway available.<br \/>\n(i.e TORA + clearway)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Runway End Safety Area (RESA) a cleared and graded area adjacent to the end of a runway two type: undershoot RESA, overshoot RESA undershoot RESA &#8211;
