I\u00a0had time to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>discuss future hopes and dreams<\/li>\n<li>focus on <strong>phrases<\/strong> to talk about the future<\/li>\n<li>practise using <strong>contractions<\/strong>\u00a0(short-form) to sound more natural.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Hey bro, when I am doing the revision from the BC platform, I saw your appointment for the lesson next week. I think this review article will be useful for both of us.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>For the foreseeable immediate future<\/strong><\/span>&#8221; &#8211; In the lesson &#8211;\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>I expect you&#8217;ll<\/strong><\/span> have an opening discussion section as usual. After that <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I think you&#8217;ll<\/span> also<\/strong> listen to two tapes about two people&#8217;s\u00a0planning about their life and expectation on their local city and country. While I was listening to the tapes, I though of conversion between us <strong>at one time<\/strong> at a bar &#8211; <em>one of the speaker Ms. J<\/em> shares a similar targets like yours.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>NOTE:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>at <strong>one<\/strong> time &#8211; in the past<\/li>\n<li>at <strong>a <\/strong>time &#8211; during any one period (per time)<\/li>\n<li>at <strong>the<\/strong> time &#8211;\u00a0at the particular point when something was thought of or done (\u7576\u6642)<\/li>\n<li>at time<strong>s<\/strong> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/tommykwan.com\/blog\/english-learning\/lesson-8-expressing-dissatisfaction-at-work\/\" target=\"_blank\">sometimes<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mycourse-lessondetail-desc\">\n<p>In terms of her education and career planning\u00a0&#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">In the short term<\/span>,<\/strong><strong>she expect she&#8217;d<\/strong>\u00a0be promoted to a high position. <strong>At\u00a0that moment,<\/strong> she <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">had <em>already<\/em> been<\/span> the <strong>right hand woman &#8211; deputy manager\u00a0<\/strong>in\u00a0the\u00a0company. and she had noticed that her boss\u00a0were going to leave. &#8220;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>At the moment<\/strong><\/span>, I&#8217;m deputy manager, but my boss <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>is planning to<\/strong><\/span> leave in 6 months, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>I<\/strong>&#8216;<strong>ll definitely<\/strong><\/span> apply for her job and\u00a0<strong>I expect I&#8217;ll<\/strong> get it.&#8221; Ms J said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Looking ahead <\/span><\/strong>(= <strong>Looking at the long term<\/strong>), <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>I&#8217;d really like to<\/strong><\/span> use\u00a0my experience to <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">open up a shop<\/span><\/em>.&#8221; she added. However, it is not a easy task to &#8211; if we want to, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff0000;\"><strong>we&#8217;ve\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">got to<\/span><\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">sort out a business plan.<\/span><\/em><strong>&#8220;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I&#8217;ll need to<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>raise some capital<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>I&#8217;am pretty sure I can<\/strong> <\/span>borrow some of the money from my family, and <strong>I&#8217;ll probably need to\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>take out a loan<\/em><\/span> as well. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>It&#8217;s what <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I&#8217;ve <em>always<\/em> wanted<\/span> to do, and I think I can make it happen.<\/strong><\/span>&#8220;she dare to tell.<\/p>\n<p>Next, Ms J also tell you about how does she spend her free time. She loves exercise &#8211; as she said &#8220;<strong>I&#8217;ve always loved<\/strong> exercise.&#8221; She thought to do\u00a0a 10km run &#8211; that was her target. If you are listening to the same recording, I expect you&#8217;ll probably hear her saying &#8220;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>A real achievement <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>would be\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/strong><strong>to<\/strong><\/span> do the 10km run in 6 months &#8211;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <strong>that&#8217;s my target<\/strong>.<\/span> <strong>I&#8217;ll definitely do <\/strong>the training<strong> if I <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>put<\/em><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em> my name down for it<\/em><\/span>. My friend runs an orphanage, so<strong> I&#8217;d like to\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>raise sponsorship money for it by doing <\/em><\/span>the run.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Also, Ms J believes that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>a couple of hours<\/em><\/span> a week (to help out with the children) can make big difference to their lives and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>a couple of her friends<\/em> <\/span>are also interested, so they&#8217;d\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>meet up<\/em><\/span>\u00a0but they&#8217;d doing something useful somehow.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Ms J\u00a0would be getting married. <strong>It&#8217;s obviously that&#8217;s the big thing in her life.<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>&#8220;I\u00a0don&#8217;t know when is the best time to<\/strong> have children &#8211;\u00a0<strong>I think\u00a0I should<\/strong> do it soon.&#8221; Rightly, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">her father <em>p<\/em><em>a<\/em><em>sse<\/em><em>d a<\/em><em>way<\/em><\/span>\u00a0while her mother\u00a0was alone and still young, so she supposed her mother\u00a0could\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">help her out.<\/span>\u00a0<strong>&#8220;<\/strong>I<strong>\u00a0don&#8217;t want to go<\/strong> and live\u00a0anywhere else,\u00a0<strong>because <\/strong>I\u00a0<strong>don&#8217;t want to<\/strong> leave mum <strong>but<\/strong> I<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>want to<\/strong> get on with my career. <strong>so\u00a0I expect I&#8217;ll<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>move in with<\/em><\/span> her. <strong>I\u00a0think it&#8217;ll be the best for\u00a0all of us&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>NOTE: <strong>HELP OUT \/ HELP (SBY) OUT \/ HELP OUT WITH<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0do a part of someone&#8217;s work or give someone money<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>For the city and country, she<strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8216;d like to see<\/span> improvements in<\/strong> education for young children. <strong>&#8220;At the moment, children go<\/strong> to school when they are six<strong>, but<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> I hope<\/span><\/strong> the government <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>will<\/strong> <\/span>open more governmental nurseries and kindergartens for the younger ones.<strong> I think it will<\/strong> <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">make a big difference to their chances in life.<\/span><\/em> <strong>It will also<\/strong> help the parents a lot, since it can be hard to arrange childcare when they are working.<strong>&#8220;<\/strong> She said.<\/p>\n<p>Having to say that, I am not sure the exactly meaning of certain usage in the original tape and that&#8217;s why I told you that I needed to check the grammar book.
