After I was off-duty as well as took my little baggage from my home, I got onboard the airport bus with relaxing and joyful mood. I waited the moment for more than 6 six years.

In 2009, my best friend and I planned to go to the Formosa as our graduation trip (of form 5). Unfortunately, the trip was canceled due to the risk of swine influenza. Perhaps you may challenge our decision at that time. Somehow we made that decision. Tonight, I can go with my bro eventually. The most meaningful thing is that we share mutual habits and vision, from sports to traveling. The most interesting is that we are passionate in the aviation industry, particular the airlines sector.

From the interest to desire profession
Tonight, 20160605, we were seating on the high speed rail that is en route to Taipei. “Do you remember that I chose a A380 theme restaurant for one of the dinning occasion for our graduation trip? We finish our trip eventually” I said.

In this trip, I have a impressive, unforgettable, priceless chances to learn more about myself while I can see some of my good friends although the time is limited.

In 2009, I quit from my old secondary school to a new school for the F6 to F7 course. Two academic years later, in 2011, I started my brand-new life in Taipei.

Since then, I tried to study more about the material science as well as the bio-medical science in the faculty of Molecular Sci. and Eng. However, I got lost in year three.

In 2015, I finished a board of subjects: biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, microbiology, instrument and analysis and so on. The details of those subject is based on the foundation of material science to laboratory skills and application. However, I have not much passion in that field.

If you ask me some questions like: Why I chose that faculty? What trigger me to re-route my pathway? Or Why do I love aviation? I will have various reasons to convince you to believe in me. My experience or connection with airlines industry started from my eleven months. My books that I bought when I was a primary student may be the second evidence. (what are the books related? – of coz aviation! Those books are written by a grouo of pilot and they want to help more people having a basic understanding of their demanding but rewarding job.) My willing to go to the A380 theme restaurant may be the third proof. My decision to go back to Hong Kong for the ground school course…My experience in FTA for the 10-hours course and the series of actions recently also can help me to notice that fact that aviation is not only my interest, but the life long commitment. I do want to turn my habit into my routine mission.

The airlines, aviation, is a dynamic industry. The contributor in this area are helping people to come closer than the past era. However, the requirement is demanding. Also, imorovement is always required.

Learn from travelling!
Compare this trip with various past experience, I do want to evaluate my ability in the sector. Indeed, passion is not the limitation for me, but I do have to learn more about how to make planning, forecast and decision. Through this trip, I had chance to learn from the trip and from my Bro.

From shuttle bus to Swimming pants. From sunglasses to Starbucks
We arrived the Taoyuan International airport after mid-night. After we got back our check-in baggage from the carousel, we went out to the bus stop. “Oh, the last one has departure already” bro said. “Do your cellphone have the Taiwan mobile service?” He asked as well. While he is figuring out if there is any free shuttle service to the hotel, there is a driver askes me from the window of a 7-people car: “is it terminal 1”. At that moment, I suddenly wanted to find a wall or a hole. Eventually, he figured out that there is another free shuttle bus, whereas I could not answer to the driver. At that moment, I suddenly realize my weaknesses.

Experience do enhance my confidence, but there is a drawback for me. Recall the first trip to go Vienna, I checked everything from myself, including the service time, location, emergency contact ….you name it! Now, I try to use my common sense rather than well-preparation to handle every trip. Is it good or bad habit?” I am traveling rather than working. Relax, it is not a big deal” However, I have to always remind myself that habit is cultivated from daily life. So, I feel guilty for this.

Preparation is important for every flight, the same principle is suitable in traveling. Yet, I have to learn to be flexible. The day before the trip, I checked the weather forcast from Taiwan CWB. The report predicted that the weather would be rainly, therefore, I did not brought my sunglasses. Ironically, the sun was raising his hand to me. Self-question again: did I make a correct decision?

In this trip, my Brother and I had made a consensus: we barely go to taiwan for a realxing trip and visit some of my friends there. Billy, who is a Starbucks geek and it is reasonable that we shall meet at Starbucks. However, there is no sufficient table while we need to think whether we should go or not. Rightly, we could find a table for two people, but we had four people. Wait or Go? Aviation come to my mind again, if it is emergence situation, whether we should take off or stay on ground. Btw, it is not really good example but I do push myself to learn from every trip.

Somehow we are not aircraft while the Starbucks is not airport, but if oneday I have chance to be one of the member in any position in airlines company, the preparation would be the key in achieving OTP.

What aviation can teach us?
As you may noticed that some requirements are necessary. Detailed mind training is one of the best thing for me to working in this discipline. Recall the saying from a predecessor: you should fly faster than the airplane. What does it mean? This trip, I had deeply experience from the arrival to even minor as finding a table in coffee shop.

As the coffee shop had too much pilgrim, we made a diversion to another store nearby. “where is the starbucks?(吾知几多樓呢?) ” I said. “2/F” my friend replied within seconds. “how do you know?” I was coursing.”I have opened the plan floor!” Both of my bro and I visited Taiwan many times, but you can feel the different between me and him. I do not think that I cannot be detailed mind like him, but I believe that I need to remind myself as well as push myself to become better than ever.

Now, 20160605, I am sitting in the airport and waiting for the flight to Hong Kong. In this short trip, I had chance to swim with my Bro. If you do not know me, you may not imagine how much effort do I need to jump into the water.

For the reason why I refuse to swim in the past is not important anymore, the only thing that I know is that I absolutely have had a clear orientation since my year three in the university.

I have known more about myself. I understand that I need to be detailed mind. Yet, it is not only talking about writing on the paper or think by myself. The most easy and important way to improve this quality is practicing and experience. Think ahead and fly faster than the plane.

Back to reality, in fact that I still have chance to learn from my current position in the lefting 2x days. Safty is not barely a slogan! It is proven by daily practice! And special for myself: experience may mask my logical mindset!

The planned gradation trip, with my bro! 20160603 – it was a sunny and scorching hot Friday.
